What Is Boyle Street Community Services?

Located in the inner-city of Edmonton, Alberta, Boyle Street Community Services has been dedicated to addressing the needs of people who are homeless, impoverished and marginalized for over 40 years. We are a non-profit agency that has developed expertise in assertive engagement with those who come to us for help. We serve, support, and empower over 12,000 people per year to take control of their lives and escape the fearful experience of poverty and hopelessness. Many of our community members face multiple barriers including social exclusion, discrimination, mental illness, addictions and homelessness. 80% of those we serve are of aboriginal decent. The mission of the Boyle Street Community Services is to build and provide community support for people with multiple barriers to community inclusion. Boyle Street provides a safe, welcoming and comfortable space for our community members to come and access a variety of opportunities and services including meals, recreation, and support services. Our staff actively connect with community members and work with them to take advantage of the many services we offer.
