What Is Boyce College?

You're not casual about your faith. Your Christian college shouldn't be either. It goes far beyond how you spend your Sundays and guides how you plan to spend your entire life. So even as you're looking to college, you're looking to what lies beyond. Boyce College is about going beyond. Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, stands on the gospel, and has since its founding. Our faculty's commitment to the Bible and to cultural engagement, along with our vibrant student life culture and academic programs, will equip students for faithfulness in all of life. Boyce College derives its name from James P. Boyce, founder and first president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to being a Southern Baptist statesman, Boyce sought to innovate the world of theological education by making it more convictional, rigorous, and accessible. This vision for theological education that is biblically orthodox, academically challenging, and widely attainable, though articulated over 150 years ago, lives on through the leadership of R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Seminary and Boyce College. Today’s Christian college students and graduates will face challenges that previous generations could not have imagined. Under Mohler’s leadership, Boyce College is in a position to train students who will serve the church and engage the culture from a convictional and biblical worldview, regardless of the challenges before them.
