What Is Botanicare?

In 1996, the concept for Botanicare was developed by small business owner Treg Bradley in the back of an Arizona hydroponics store. Botanicare began selling its first product, a supplement called Pure Blend Original Compost Tea solution. Soon after, hydroponic growers were raving about Pure Blend Original’s effect on their crops. Over the years, Botanicare expanded its product offerings to meet increased demand -- including hydroponic systems and equipment, grow trays and reservoirs from recycled plastic, base nutrients, supplements, and grow mediums. Now a driving force and leader in the North American hydroponics industry, Botanicare is committed to its core values, emphasizing relationships, innovation, integrity, and environmental and social responsibility. In its commitment to sustainability, Botanicare’s approach to product development includes continually examining and reducing its carbon footprint in terms of shipping, electricity usage and the use of recycled and recyclable materials. This led to a major solar installation – one of the largest by a private company in Arizona at the time -- to power its plastics division. Botanicare was an industry leader in the popularization of coco coir as a growing medium and soil additive for the hydroponics marketplace. Coco coir is made from empty coconut shells which would otherwise be discarded. Additionally the company recently opened a grow media materials processing facility on the border between Oregon and Washington to serve a large base of its customers there, which reduces shipping distances, and therefore fuel consumption, drastically. As industry experts, Botanicare is dedicated to providing education and support for the growing hydroponics industry. Botanicare sells through its international network of distributors and retailers, visit www.botanicare.com for more information.
