What Is Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards?

BOSTES was created by the NSW Government to sustain and improve the already high standards of achievement in NSW schools. BOSTES commenced operation on 1 January 2014, and brings together the functions previously provided by the Board of Studies NSW, and the NSW Institute of Teachers. The Quality Teaching Council will continue to function under the auspices of BOSTES. BOSTES will bring a new focus in NSW on how research, data and experience on standards setting can be used to make improvements across the whole education spectrum. BOSTES will work across all NSW school systems, and will incorporate a wide range of elements — including international research, and the input of the NSW teaching workforce — in its work in areas including: Curriculum Teaching Assessment Registration Policy
