What Is Birmingham Country Club?
Birmingham Country Club is a private membership family-oriented country club located in Birmingham, Michigan, twenty minutes north of downtown Detroit. We are Committed to Excellence and dedicated to providing best-in-class family-centric dining, social, wellness, and recreational activities. Situated on 161 rolling acres along the Rouge River that was once the Case Farm, BCC is one of the most prestigious country clubs in the Metro Detroit Area. Originally founded as Birmingham Golf Club, the championship Tom Bendelow design has a rich tradition that includes hosting the 1953 PGA Championship, the 1968 US Women's Amateur and the 1984 US Men's Senior Amateur. The golf course underwent an extensive $2.5 million restoration in 2015 under the direction of consulting architect Bruce Hepner. The original clubhouse was a white farmhouse on Northlawn across from the 18th fairway that today is a private residence. The current Tudor clubhouse opened on March 30, 1930, and offers a variety of venues for regular dining as well as social engagements. The clubhouse underwent significant renovations in the spring of 2016 as part of a $5 million facilities improvement project in celebration of its Centennial. In addition to the 18 Hole golf course and practice facilities, athletic facilities include a fitness room, 6 outdoor tennis courts (4 hard | 2 clay), 4 lighted paddle tennis courts, tennis and paddle clubhouses, and an Olympic pool. Food and beverage facilities include family and adult-centric casual dining, white tablecloth fine dining, and al fresco dining on the prominent patio and two poolside venues - The Dive Bar and High Dive. BCC offers a constant variety of activities and programs for Members of all ages and has very active junior sports programming in golf, tennis and swimming.
