What Is Beth Yeshurun Day School?

For over 69 years Beth Yeshurun Day School has provided superior Jewish elementary and early childhood education to our Houston community. Our core principles of confidence, challenge, and character have sustained us through the years, and guide us into the future. Situated in Meyerland on the Southwest side of Houston, Beth Yeshurun Day School is located alongside our companion institution, the Congregation Beth Yeshurun. The campus setting provides a safe, friendly, and close knit environment. BYDS is grounded in community; a community which fosters young scholars and citizens in the Jewish tradition. We engage students individually through a diverse array of programs. Programs such as Judaics, experiential learning, basketball league, musicals, and community service help each student to find their own place, and learn how to give back. Small class sizes and an involved faculty and staff ensure that every student’s unique needs are known and cared for. Since 1949, more than 2000 students have graduated from BYDS, becoming doctors, attorneys, businessmen and women, civic leaders, and leaders in the Jewish community.
