Benet Academy provides financial assistance to families in need through endowed funds set aside for this purpose. For the funds named below, Catholic families in need of assistance must have students who are hard-working and in good standing. Families must first complete a financial aid request form for the Diocese of Joliet that is available through the Principal's Office. Need is determined by an independent evaluator and awards from Benet endowed funds are made based on this demonstrated need. The following are existing endowed, financial assistance funds:The Rev. Ronald Rigovsky, O.S.B. Memorial FundThe Rev. Ronald Rigovsky, O.S.B., is a giant in the history of Benet Academy. Father Ronald was a 1951 graduate of St. Procopius Academy, Benet's name before it became a coeducational institution in 1967. Father Ronald served as Principal of St. Procopius Academy from 1964-1967 and then as Principal of the newly named Benet Academy from 1967-1987. He also served as President of Benet from 1987-1992, when he was succeeded by his classmate Father Jude D. Randall, O.S.B. Father Ronald had a deep and abiding love for Benet Academy. He worked hard to raise the academic standards and believed that the key to that success lay in recruiting and retaining faculty of the highest quality. He was an active participant in the Benet community until his death on March 3, 1996, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. The Father Ronald R. Rigovsky, O.S.B. Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to memorialize his name and accomplishments. This is an endowed fund of Benet Academy that provides financial assistance to Benet families who experience serious financial setbacks due to illness, loss of employment or other extraordinary family difficulties.
