Belknap White Alcco Revenue and Competitors

BWA - Belknap White Alcco - is one of two major wholesale distribution groups. BWA focuses on flooring while, the other group - RID - Rhode Island Distribution-focuses on beverage distribution. In our pursuit of diversification we entered into the flooring business in 1981. Initially the flooring division consisted of approximately 20 employees. Today, we are 175 employees strong and are one of the top ten wholesale flooring distributors in the country servicing all of New England and Upstate New York. In 1959 Antonio Mancini purchased a liquor distributor called Providence Beverage Company. He started with 15 employees; some that are still with the company today. As time progressed consolidation among distributors in the beverage industry provided expansion opportunities for the Company. (In fact, there were approximately 29 distributors in the late 1950's and now there are only four.) Through acquisition and expansion we have become one of the largest distributors in the state of Rhode Island. In 1989 the Company entered into a shared service-shipping venture known as Centrex. This partnership is one of the first distribution centers of its kind in the wholesale beverage distribution business. Our latest expansion in the beverage business has been into the state of Connecticut. Our beverage companies now represent some of the most influential producers in the business, carrying almost all the major brands in every category. Our combined entities have the resources, both human and financial, to manage a top performing business for our vendors, for our customers and for our employees.
