What Is BeavEx?
In 1988, I was working a summer job in Connecticut as a driver/mover for a moving company. One of our customers was a bank. One day I was working at this bank and the bank's transportation manager was complaining about something: their internal couriers. I was getting ready to graduate and had MIS classes that involved queuing and staffing. I thought, "There has to be a better way than this." So I approached the customer, let him know that I thought I could do a better job meeting his needs, and submitted a proposal to him. He liked the proposal and it would save him a great deal of headaches but he told me he thought it was a long shot to eliminate these employee/driver positions. A few weeks later, after another screw-up, the customer called me and gave me the contract. I graduated in May of 1989 and on June 2nd of that year, BeavEx was born.
