What Is Baptist Mid-Missions?

Baptist Mid-Missions was founded in 1920 by a group of independent Baptist churches burdened for world evangelism. Since our origin, God has used missionaries sent through Baptist Mid Missions to evangelize, disciple believers, and plant fundamental Baptist churches the world over. He continues His work to this very day. However, our generation has advantages our first missionaries wouldn't have dreamed of in 1920. Our day is one of incredible technological breakthroughs such as e-mail and the internet that enable us to communicate around the world, instantaneously. Just 10 years ago, web sites such as this were virtually unknown. But, as amazing as the internet is, it does not come close to the spiritual network God has established among believers. A reminder of this recently was our annual World Day of Prayer, held on Baptist Mid-Missions' anniversary. On that day we pray for our entire Mission family by name. As we gathered in groups throughout the Home Office, we lifted up names of missionaries and nationals-some of which were unpronouncable to our English-speaking tongues-and entreated God on their behalf. Some of those we prayed for we'll never meet in this life. Yet in Christ, we are a network of believers with unlimited access to God in prayer.
