What Is BPL?

We pride ourselves on a long-standing reputation of more than half a century of expertise in delivering high-quality electronic goods for the Indian market. Envisaged from humble beginnings in 1963, in its early years, BPL Pvt. Ltd. manufactured and supplied electronic testing and measuring instruments, electro-medical equipment, electro-cardio graft patient monitoring systems, television receivers, to name a few. Our 1982 partnership with Sanyo, Japan was a pivotal step in our journey. This transition from medical equipment manufacturing to consumer electronics marked the birth of BPL as a consumer electronics brand. Our offerings diversified with new product lines that included video cassette recorders, refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, among other household electronic appliances. With a successful initial public offering, BPL Ltd. was incorporated in 1994. Ever since we have ventured into PPL's and diverse businesses in advanced medical technologies, eco-friendly alkaline batteries, mobile communication, cooking ranges employing state-of-the-art Italian technology, high-end audio entertainment, optical fiber for southwest railways, information technology, laptops, telecom and a youth portal. We were determined to venture back into the consumer electronics market, a survey conducted by India Today acknowledged us as one of ‘Top Three Most Recalled Brands in India'. In a strident move in 2015, we launched a brand new range of products. BPL has effortlessly evolved over the decades, from a well-loved, preferred household name to a legacy brand; we welcome and wear with pride our most recent avatar as a new-age online-only brand. As a stalwart of the industry, we will always maintain our outstanding consumer satisfaction by sourcing the best available technologies matched with our premium quality products.
