Battle Ground Public Schools educates students in an engaging environment that meets the needs of every learner. We provide educational opportunities ranging from traditional to alternative. Our programs comprise K-12 classrooms; online learning; a homeschool program; a high school STEM program that focuses on agriculture, science and the environment; a rigorous academic academy; and a high school for self-directed learners.\n\nBy focusing on best instructional practices, technology, and facilities, Battle Ground Public Schools teaches students to think critically and creatively and prepares them for success after high school. Low teacher to student ratios let staff impart practical skills and knowledge to students within the framework of state learning standards and social-emotional learning. Our students achieve state test scores that are consistently above state average.\n\nFounded in 1909, the district encompasses five municipalities in southwest Washington. Green forests and panoramic views of Mt. St. Helens contribute to the area's beauty. Numerous recreational opportunities include family parks, hiking trails, camping and fishing at surrounding lakes and rivers such as the Lewis and Columbia rivers. Battle Ground enjoys the charming ambience of a small town, yet is just 30 miles north of the Portland, Oregon metro area, which offers an international airport and world-class dining, theater, arts and shopping.\n\nBattle Ground Public Schools supports more than 13,000 students in 18 schools: seven primary schools, six middle schools, one 3-12 academy, two comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school, and one homeschool support program. The district has more than 1,500 professional staff and serves a population of 72,000 residents and spans 273 square miles in Clark County and the cities of Battle Ground, Brush Prairie, Amboy, Yacolt and Vancouver.
