AVENTA CREDIT UNION™ 55 YEARS OF SERVING THOSE WHO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY Aventa Credit Union™ was chartered as Colorado Springs Employees Credit Union in 1957 by the Colorado Springs Utilities department. Shortly thereafter, the city's Police Department, Fire Department, Administration and Memorial Hospital also chartered CSECU as their credit union, making it the premier financial partner for employees of Colorado Springs city government. In the ensuing years, many more groups saw the financial advantage of a member-owned, not-for-profit credit union. By 2009, the credit union had more than 16,000 members, more than 40% of whom lived outside the city limits of Colorado Springs. This reflected the regional growth and the population increases in many nearby communities... a significant factor driving the decision to adopt a new name in May 2009. Aventa Credit Union seeks to be more inclusive, more reflective of members' geographic diversity and more representative of today's Colorado. In March 2010, Pueblo City Employees Credit Union in Pueblo became a part of Aventa, following a vote of its membership in favor of this alliance. Like Aventa, PCE boasts a decades-old legacy of serving the financial needs of city employees, making this partnership a natural fit for both institutions. Together, we are stronger and more capable than ever. In March 2012, the Saguache County Credit Union (SCCU) was dissolved by the National Credit Union Administration and acquired by Aventa. This move enabled three SCCU branches; Reynolds, South Worth and Silver (Moffat, Center and Crestone) to operate without interruption in service to members, who now enjoy the financial stability and increased product offering of being part of a larger institution. Currently, credit unions are among the country's strongest and most stable financial models, thanks to direct accountability to membership and conservative management philosophies. Aventa is proud to be part the US credit union heritage. Our growth continues to spread the cooperative spirit and support economies of scale that continually enhance our ability to care for our members.
