What Is Avella Specialty Pharmacy?
The Apothecary Shops were founded in 1996 as a single pharmacy located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our company has experienced rapid growth since its inception and now includes physical locations throughout Arizona, Nevada, Ohio, Utah and California. Our broad geographic coverage allows us to provide customized services to patients throughout our market, and allows patients to maintain personal relationships with pharmacists who are knowledgeable in their disease state. The company is financially stable, debt free and is aggressively investing in programs and services that will improve the quality of care delivered to our patients. In addition, the company is entering new, strategic markets at a rate of three to five per year. Since our formation in 1996, we have been a leader in preparing customized medications to meet the specific needs of patients and practitioners. Our compounding centers are staffed by pharmacists and certified and licensed pharmacy technicians who are specially trained in the art and science of compounding. We maintain an aggressive quality control program for each of our compounding facilities. Our clean room is certified to meet the highest standards set by the United States Pharmacopoeial Convention. Each facility is regularly tested to ensure requirements for sterility are exceeded. In addition, our compounded medications are regularly tested by an outside FDA-approved laboratory to ensure product potency, sterility and consistency are maintained. The Apothecary Shops employs 150 individuals. Our team includes: Pharmaceutical Care Experts, Certified Menopausal Educators, Reimbursement Support Staff, Compounding Experts, Support Staff, and a Sales & Marketing Department. Though capable of supporting a wide range of pharmaceutical care needs for our patients, we have focused our practice on providing specialized services in specific disease states/patient groups. As a result of this effort, we have developed Centers of Excellence, focusing on the following areas:
