Our History In February 2003, the strengths of two of the finest industrial/commercial contractors in Richmond, VA were combined to form what is now Atlantic Constructors, Inc. These predecessor businesses, Atlantic Industrial Constructors, Inc. (est. 1985) and Hungerford Mechanical Corporation (est. 1947), both had excellent, well-established reputations in the industrial and commercial markets which carry forward still today. Each level of management strives to reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and strives to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine. Management interest is vocal, visible, and continuous, from top management to departmental supervisors. We insist that all our employees adopt this culture and make our safety and health program an integral part of their daily work practices. This will help us achieve the objective of minimizing accidents and injuries within the workplace. Our Facility ACI is headquartered in Richmond, VA in close proximity to Interstate 95 South. Our facility is located on 25 acres in the James River Industrial Center. Ductwork, piping, plumbing, and steel are fabricated and assembled in our 100,000 SF fabrication shop fronted by a 30,000 SF, two-story office. Additional sub-assembly and pre-fabrication is performed in another 50,000 SF facility located off-site. ACI has satellite offices in Newport News and North Carolina.
