AMSTED Industries is a diversified manufacturer of industrial components serving primarily the railroad, vehicular, and construction and building markets. Our principal business strategy is to employ our product development capabilities, advanced manufacturing processes and marketing skills in market niches where we can achieve a market leadership position. Operations are conducted through divisions and subsidiaries that are relatively autonomous, while our small corporate headquarters staff oversees financial controls and provides strategic direction. Management emphasizes product innovation, lean manufacturing techniques, and excellence in quality, delivery and product performance. Although many of the markets for our products are mature, we seek growth opportunities through technological and product enhancement and by acquiring and developing new products that can be sold through existing distribution networks and established customer channels.
