Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) was listed as a standalone company on Nasdaq Stockholm on August 31, 2022, and renamed Alleima™. Alleima, former Sandvik Materials Technology, dates from 1862, when Göran Fredrik Göransson started Sandvikens Jernverk, a pioneer in using the Bessemer method in steel production on an industrial scale.
