What Is Africair?

Africair has served the African aviation community continuously since our company was founded in 1968. Our business efforts are devoted to the marketing and distribution of CESSNA AIRCRAFT COMPANY and BELL HELICOPTER/TEXTRON aircraft and other aviation related products. We represent Cessna's entire product line in 41 countries in Africa. Cessna has built more general aviation aircraft than any other manufacturer, and is recognized as the industry leader in safety, reliability, performance and innovation. In addition to selling new Cessna aircraft, we provide spare parts, product support, warranty administration, technical support, and training coordination for Cessna aircraft operators on a direct basis and through African based Cessna approved service stations. Africair is the exclusive Independent Representative for the entire Bell Helicopter/Textron product line in 18 African countries. Bell is the premier manufacturer of light to medium size helicopters in the world. We have provided helicopters, parts, maintenance and technical support, and training coordination to many government agencies, and to many commercial operators, including those supporting the exploration and production activities of major oil companies. We also represent Bell's customizing affiliate, Edwards and Associates, and provide configuration advice and completion coordination for our customers. Africair is the exclusive distributor for THIELERT AIRCRAFT ENGINES GMBH (TAE) for the entire continent of Africa. TAE manufactures a line of alternative fuel (Jet A-1/diesel) aircraft engines which are EASA (JAA) and FAA approved for installantion on a number of light aircraft, including the popular Cessna 172 Skyhawk, models K through S. TAE engines make light aircraft operation possible and affordable in many areas of the continent where avgas is either unavailable or unaffordable. We also provide product support for Piper, Beechcraft, Fairchild, DeHavilland and other general aviation aircraft, and are authorized distributors for Honeywell (Bendix/King) Avionics, Garmin, Pratt & Whitney, and other manufacturers. Hence, we are able to support the varied demands of the modern aircraft operator, who frequently operates both fixed and rotor-wing aircraft of various types and models. In addition to aircraft sales, we have owned and operated fixed base operations, charter operations, and maintenance facilities, and have operated a fleet of Cessna fixed wing aircraft and Bell helicopters that provided transport for a major oil company and other commercial customers for over thirty-five years. As a result of our experience from these varied operations, we possess a thorough knowledge of aviation operations in Africa which enables us to better understand and anticipate the needs of our customers. Our company is headquartered in Miami, Florida (USA) where we operate a modern distribution center. We are familiar with each country's importation and customs regulations, as well as the best methods of shipment to each country. Our U.S. base greatly enhances our ability to coordinate shipments from various vendors and, with respect to aircraft sales, enables us to oversee the pre-delivery process to ensure that our customer's requirements are met. Africair's dedicated and experienced management, sales and product support team has over 255 years of combined aviation marketing and product support experience in Africa. Our sales and product support personnel are fluent in English, Swahili, Spanish, French, Arabic, and German. Our full time product support representatives travel the continent of Africa continuously. We also sell and broker used aircraft; lease aircraft; process overhauls; and provide assistance in arranging financing and insurance. Our affiliate, Tropical Aviation Distributors (www.tadistributors.com), is the exclusive Cessna representative for 37 countries in the Caribbean and South America, and is the Cessna Parts Distributor for an additional four South American countries.
