What Is Aerofit?

Aerofit, Inc. and APT have grown from their humble beginnings in 1968 to one of the leading suppliers of standard and specialty aerospace fittings in the world. Aerofit Products was founded in Buena Park, California by Robert F. Peterjohn. He started with a single Clausing engine lathe but soon added turret lathes, mills and other equipment. The first major product development was a metal port seal fitting that was used on the DC -10. Aerofit qualified and received their first long term contract in 1969. In March 1972 APT laboratories was established as a hydro-mechanical testing laboratory and in 1976 Aerofit Products received its first Boeing approval. In 1999 Aerofit acquired a Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) fitting and joining system technology product line. This system sells under the copyright names, CryoFit, CryoFlare, and Cryolive. Aerofit began production in one 5,000 sq. ft building and over the years grew into six buildings totaling 47,000 sq. ft. Aerofit Products and APT remained in the Peterjohn family until March 2004 when they were sold to Jordan Law and Dave Werner. Both Mr. Law and Mr. Werner have extensive backgrounds in Aerospace and manufacturing. In 2005, the new company, Aerofit, Inc., moved into one 67,000 sq. ft. modern building in Fullerton, California. Since the acquisition in 2004, much needed capital has been invested in the company to ensure a solid financial foundation for future growth and expansion. Aerofit's vision is to be a world class provider of specialty components and related services. Aerofit's strategy is to sustain long term, profitable, world-wide growth by meeting customer needs through the effective application of our core capabilities.
