Over the years, AME has established and continues to increase its network of factory territory managers, independent factory representatives, and distributors who cover most industrial areas of the U.S. and Canada. To broaden our marketing base, new product lines have been continually developed and added: In 1982, The Enclosed Cable Carrier line was purchased from Hennig, Inc. The product was improved and its trademark "AMFLEX" registered. In 1985, a sales and service contract with OTT KEMPTEN (now Ott-Jakob) was signed, adding the Power Drawbars, Power-Check Pull Force Gages and related assemblies to our product line--making Advanced Machine their exclusive North American partner. In 1987, the G. OTT Precision Worm Gears and the ODU Quick Change Electric Connector lines were added. In 1988, a new product, "Rod Clamps" was developed and registered under the name "AMLOK." In 1990, The EXCEL, Inc.'s Precision Hard Ground Gears and the AMLON-SKC Anti-Friction coating lines were developed. In 1992, a line of Heavy-Duty AMLOK® Cylinder Rod Clamps were developed together with Sitema, Germany. Also, a line of AMBUSH Hydraulically-Operated Squeeze Bushings, as well as Clamp Disks and Rings were developed and introduced to our customers. In addition, the Sitema Safety Clamp products were added to our lines. Also in 1992, two larger CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines were purchased to supplement the inspection of large machining components and to perform contract inspection for other companies. In 1993, a new air-conditioned manufacturing facility was built to house the CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's) and the large Boring Machines. The machines were moved and combined under one roof next to the main AME plant, providing AME with an increase in productivity. Since this move, several NC and CNC boring bars, CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers with multiple tool and pallet changers, one CNC turning with multiple tool and pallet changers and one CNC turning center with robotic loading table, high production ID & OD grinders and hones as well as smaller production machines have been purchased and rebuilt to perform special operations in newly rearranged manufacturing cells run by single operators. In 1994, a new line of Linear Roller Bearings from Tschudin & Heid in Switzerland were added . At the end of 1994, an agreement was reached with B&S Maschinen GmbH & Co. KG & Bütfering to promote their beet processing machinery in the United States. In 1995, the Pneumatic AMLOK® Cylinder Rod Clamp development was completed and Advanced Machine & Engineering Co.'s third building was purchased. Also, a new and efficient air-conditioning system was installed in the main plant. The S.A.F.E. Modular Fixturing line was purchased and marketed under the AMFLEX trademark. In 1996, a new line of NFPA pneumatic tie-rod cylinders was developed and introduced to the marketplace as a complement to our AMLOK® Cylinder Rod Clamps. In 1997, AME became the exclusive North American partner for Triag--the Swiss manufacturer of high precision mini vises and multiple workholding components. In the same year, AME develops an economical carbide saw, the AMSAW 200, using carbide-tipped circular saw blades to compete against band saws and common HSS cold saws. Also in 1997, a new line of HSK toolholders is added to complement our line of Ott-Jakob HSK Power Drawbars --making AME the partner of Schuessler: a high-quality and reputable, manufacturer in Germany. In 1998, AME is segmented into six strategic operating units to better serve their customers: 1. Design & Build/Special Machines (which includes the carbide saws), 2.
