What Is AUSL?

AUSL (Academy for Urban School Leadership) is a Chicago nonprofit school management organization that creates schools of excellence by developing highly effective teachers and transforming educational outcomes for students in the lowest performing schools. AUSL was founded in 2001 and today manages 31 Chicago Public Schools serving 17,000 students. \n\nAUSL develops highly effective teachers through our Chicago Teacher Residency (CTR). To date over 1,000 have graduated from the AUSL Chicago Teacher Residency. CTR Grads earn a masters degree while gaining valuable in-classroom experience in this yearlong urban teach training program equipping them with the skills they need to maximize impact with a school climate the supports high expectations for all.
