Trautman and Shreve starts company and elects Denis Miller as President. Paula Wiley is first employee hired as an accountant. 1985 - Advantage Mechanical secures first major project, Beaver Creek Lodge. Project is resort complex in Breckenridge, Colorado; contract value is $2,000,000. 1986 - Manuel Gonzales is hired for Business Development and Project Management. 1989 - Advantage Mechanical secures P-Technology. Project is large process piping project. The project puts company on map in Colorado region. 1991 - Advantage Mechanical becomes AMI Mechanical, Manuel Gonzales is named President, Paula Wiley is named Secretary, Treasurer, later becoming Vice President. 1993 - AMI Mechanical purchases assets of Temperature Technology to begin in the Service industry. Company is named AMI Mechanical Systems. 1995 - AMI Mechanical secures the United Airlines Flight Simulator project. Company wins ACE Award for construction excellence. To date the largest project. 1997 - AMI Mechanical South is started to develop opportunities in Southern Colorado region. The company is managed by Ken Krause. 1998 - AMI Mechanical moves to current location - 12141 Pennsylvania Street. 2001 - AMI Mechanical, AMI Mechanical Systems and AMI Mechanical South merge. 2002 - AMI Mechanical purchases assets (Service Contracts) of Accurate Air. 2003 - Manuel Gonzales wins the Hispanic Contractors award for Community Advocate. AMI Mechanical becomes heavily involved in the development and mentoring of smaller disadvantaged companies. 2004 - AMI Mechanical is selected with partners Heery International and Empire Construction to provide Program Management Services for the 2004 Denver Public Schools Bond Issue. The Bond issue approved by the Denver voters in 2003 is $310,000,000 and is scheduled for completion in 2006/2007. 2005 - AMI Mechanical wins Subcontractor of the year award in Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (fourth straight year award won) and the Excellence in Safety award. The company safety mod rate is at 0.67.
