What Is ALFA Development?
ALFA Development, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency that serves individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities, including autism/PDD, mental retardation and dual diagnosis. ALFA is licensed by the state of New Jersey Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Our services include both residential living and a special needs day program focusing on daily living skills and community integration. Each of ALFA's four residences provide 24-hour supervision in a home-like setting and are inspected annually to ensure they meet New Jersey's strict guidelines for physical comfort, safety and productivity. Assistance and training are conducted daily in the areas of Self-care and Personal Hygiene, Household Maintenance and Cleaning, Meal Preparation and Nutrition, Community Safety and Communication. ALFA's day program is a Facility Based Special Needs program licensed by the State of New Jersey. The day program offers opportunities for: Paid work (clerical, janitorial), Recreation and Leisure (swimming, library, parks, bowling, reading, art and music), Social and Community Integration (shopping and dining) and Money Management. The day program works in conjunction with the residences in order to maintain continuity of care.
