For us, the value of design lives in connecting with people. Which is why we don’t hire by profession. We hire interesting people. And then we do it all over again, but this time with the sons and daughters, colleagues and friends who will be experiencing the places we create. We immerse ourselves into the life that everyday people will be leading, holding a mirror to culture and taking detailed notes of the reactions. We like to say it’s not what we know; it’s what we notice. Somewhere, the most authentic expression of a project is waiting to be discovered. All of this preparation, from the trenches to the ten thousand foot view, culminates in one idea. A story that people can’t help but connect with.
