What Is U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps?

The USNSCC believes in providing opportunities for young Americans that will positively shape their lives and career. For 55 years, through a nationwide network of dedicated volunteers, the USNSCC has provided life-changing programs that have helped develop our next generation of leaders. As the official program of the U.S. Navy and U.S Coast Guard, USNSCC has provided leadership training for more than 170,000 young Americans. For some, it starts with a dream – to sail on a Navy warship or to learn to fly. For others, it offers educational training in STEM or computer programming that helps them succeed at a trade school or in college or at a service academy. For all, it is an experience that builds life skills, leadership attributes, and moral character. As one former cadet stated: "I joined because I wanted to fly… I didn’t want to join any service, but through the cadet program, I fostered a love for the armed services. Regardless of how old you are, how shy you are, or how uninformed you are, you can make the most of this program. It is not built to reward the people who are in it the longest; it is built for those who have the drive to do something with their lives.” We're building leaders with character.
