Tourism is our business and it's booming. Nashville's hospitality industry has been on a nearly six-year record-breaking streak of growth in hotel rooms sold and hotel taxes collected. The direct impact of the hospitality industry in Nashville is $5.7 billion annually with more than 13.5 million visitors coming to Music City every year. Nashville has been named a top global destination for the past five years by major travel publications, including Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, TripAdvisor, and Frommers. From the city's world-renowned honky tonks to the rise of our dining scene, the world is taking note of Music City's authenticity, creativity, and Southern hospitality. We are proud of our work branding, selling, and marketing Nashville to the country and the world. We have 85 employees on staff and more than 1,000 business members. With convention business as the backbone of our sales activity, our sales staff consistently exceeds aggressive sales goals. Thanks to the Music City Center and Gaylord Opryland Resort, Cvent named Nashville as the country's ninth busiest meeting destination. Hotel construction is at a record pace with thousands of projected hotel rooms being added in the next few years. The NCVC produces the city's two largest, one-day events on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve. Both events sell out the city's hotel rooms and generate millions of dollars in direct visitor spending. The NCVC works closely with the City of Nashville and the Mayor's Office. We are governed by a 21-member board made up of outstanding community leaders who give selflessly of their time for the economic development of Music City. Brand Promise The Promise of Nashville - where music is inspired, created, recorded and performed - is to provide the ultimate musical entertainment experience, celebrated throughout our diverse creative, cultural and entertainment offerings, and presented in an authentic, unique, friendly and unpretentious atmosphere.
