Heating & Plumbing Engineers, Inc. is a 52 year old Colorado Springs, Colorado based Full-service Mechanical / Sheet metal Construction Company. HPE is actively involved in all phases of mechanical construction throughout the state of Colorado. With offices located in Denver and Colorado Springs. HPE performs plumbing, piping, and sheet metal "in-house". HPE is signatory to Sheet metal Local #9 and is non-union in the Plumbing / Piping Division. It is important to note that with all services "in-house", there is a minimum of double tier mark-up on Subcontracts. Our Service Department at HPE is maintained 24-hours per day, 365 days per year through radio dispatching communications to DCC control systems. This system is maintained through a modem to address any problems that may occur with the mechanical systems in local buildings. HPE specializes in Design/Build concepts and GMP projects. In 1997, 80 percent of the total volume was negotiated/GMP projects. These projects ranged from $10,000 to $8,000,000. The remainder was bid and spec contracts, which indicates HPE is competitive in both arenas. The type of projects we completed were office buildings, schools, clean rooms, retail facilities and manufacturing facilities. We utilize "QUICKPEN®" estimating systems and AutoCAD® Based drafting systems that downloads to a fully automated sheet metal plasma fabrication system. The CAD system also produces 3-Dimensional Coordination Shop Drawings. Our sheet metal and piping fabrication facilities are located at our Corporate Headquarters in Colorado Springs. HPE has both local and national involvement with numerous industry organizations. Dean Steward, President and owner of HPE, was national President of SMACNA in 1996-1997 and remains involved on national committees.
