Over fifty years ago on March 5, 1948, the Charter for a new bank in Gibsland, Louisiana--Gibsland Bank--was filed in the Clerk of Courts office in Bienville Parish, and in April of 1948, the Bank was officially opened...Gibsland Bank began operations with $30,000 in capital, and in the past 55 years has grown to serve a large portion of north Central Louisiana, with over $80 Million in assets. The Bank has grown from two full-time staff members at the 1,000 square foot building in downtown Gibsland in 1948 to 30 full-time staff members at the Main Bank in downtown Gibsland, our two large branch banks in Arcadia and Athens opened in 1998, our branch inside the Minden Super Wal-Mart opened in 1999 and our newest branch office across from Minden Super Wal-Mart in 2001. Full Service Banking is provided at all four locations. Automatic Teller Machines are located at the banks and at several other locations. Bank Credit and Debit Cards are also available to our banking customers. We invite everyone to drop by and help us begin a new century of service to North Central Louisiana.
