Child Guidance Center's (CGC) mission is to provide quality outpatient mental health and trauma treatment; empower children, youth, and families to reach their potential; and provide education on the importance of prevention and treatment. CGC was founded in 1967 as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit by concerned parents and mental health professionals. Our programs and services are provided through our 3 main clinical locations (Buena Park, Fullerton, Santa Ana), 3 collaborative partners locations (Anaheim Harbor, Minnie Street, Corbin Family Resource Centers), in-home, and at elementary, middle, and high school campuses throughout the county. In order to serve the diverse population of Orange County and surrounding areas, over 68% of our staff are bi-cultural and bilingual English, Spanish, Farsi, Korean, American Sign Language and others. CGC provides a breadth of evidence-based mental health treatment services, like our Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) program to trauma-focused treatment. CGC also provides crisis intervention, individual/group/family therapy, parent education, psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation/testing, and medication support. CGC has 15+ years experience of partnering/collaborating with a number of nonprofit/public organizations and leveraging community efforts. Some of our programs are Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Strong Families, Strong Children - Military Family Program Program for the Evaluation and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) Family Mealtime Coaching Our other unique areas of focus include expanding services provided through ASL-fluent clinicians to the deaf and hard of hearing population. We also use a variety of scientific-based outcome/measurement tools to assess effectiveness of our treatment efforts.
