What Is L-3 Adaptive Methods?

Adaptive Methods is a developer of advanced sensor processing and computing architecture products for surveillance, security, and military combat systems. Adaptive Methods technology transition programs deliver increased product value through improved sensor performance, operability, and user flexibility. Adaptive Methods was formed in 1973 as Applied Hydro-Acoustic Research and quickly became a partner with the U.S. Navy in developing modern towed array sonar systems for ocean surveillance and anti-submarine warfare applications. Our core products for the navy have expanded from engineering services to include development of modern software and integrated computing hardware solutions for surveillance and tactical sonar modernization programs. We adopted our new corporate identity - Adaptive Methods – in August 2005 to better reflect the expanded scope of the company’s products and business values. Today, Adaptive Methods continues to successfully execute technology transition programs that serve the Navy’s objective to transform undersea warfare capabilities. Our development and real-time systems implementation of adaptive signal and information processing algorithms provide the sonar operator with increased detection range and resolution to monitor the acoustic field. Data fusion and intelligent display technologies for complex multi-sensor systems provide the analyst with comprehensive situational awareness and powerful contact evaluation tools. Mission management and decision aid products leverage our advanced modeling and simulation technology to ensure optimum employment of valuable sensor and processing resources. Looking forward, Adaptive Methods will offer its talented workforce new opportunities to harness innovative technologies for tactical surveillance and security sensor systems. In all endeavors, we will maintain focus on our foremost goals of product values and customer satisfaction.
