What Is Fairfield City Council?

Fairfield City Council (FCC) is an innovative and financially strong council committed to supporting the needs of its multiculturally diverse and resilient community. Fairfield City Council is the third-largest in Australia with about 200,000 people ? and we?re growing. We are a financially strong and sustainable Council and have been rated so by TCorp in its Local Government audit. Council has a high standard of service delivery and our rates are substantially cheaper than most other Councils in South West Sydney. Fairfield City Council is committed to ?pushing the boundaries?? of traditional Local Government services. This is evidenced through initiatives such as the exciting new Fairfield Adventure Park, Youth and Community Centre, a 24/7 Library project, and a water park at Prairiewood that families will find is an affordable alternative to Wet ?n? Wild. By delivering these projects Council aims to provide our community with affordable and revitalised services. Our initiatives focus on the community?s priorities of safety, environmental issues, health, transport, education, child and youth based initiatives. In the next 10 years Council will make a significant investment in upgrading infrastructure across the City. We will deliver on upgrades to park frontages, sportsgrounds, town centres, community buildings, and upgrade roads, kerbs, guttering and much more. We are arguably the most diverse and culturally unique in Australia, boasting a rich and special ambience best reflected in the City motto, Celebrating Diversity. The majority of residents speak a language other than English at home, the most common being Vietnamese, Arabic, Assyrian, Cantonese and Spanish.
