About
Skyven is pioneering “BTUs as a Service” for industrial applications. Industrial customers burn lots of fuel to run their boilers. In many parts of the world natural gas distribution infrastructure does not exist, so factories burn oil to heat their boilers -- oil that is delivered by truck. This gets expensive. The price paid per BTU of heat is 5x - 10x higher than what a similar customer would pay in Texas for natural gas. Skyven saves industrial customers money by producing heat without fuel, reducing the amount of expensive fuel that must be sourced. Our Intelligent Mirror Array (IMA™) technology produces industrial heat at 80% or less of the cost of burning petroleum – a $500B annual market worldwide. It uses the sun as a fuel-less distributed heat source, raising the temperature of the sun's heat as high as 400°F for industries such as food processing and chemicals. Skyven is thankful to have received the following recognition for our work: 2017 NYSERDA 76West Clean Energy Competition $1 Million Grand Prize Winner 2017 US-China Innovation Alliance Innostars Preliminary Winner (ongoing) 2017 MassChallenge Boston Finalist (ongoing) 2016 Cleantech Open National Finalist and South-central Regional Winner 2016 Wild Gift Climate Change Fellowship Recipient 2015 National Science Foundation SBIR Award Recipient 2015 SXSW Interactive Innovation Award Finalist (Sustainability category). 2015 Protolabs Cool Ideas!
