What Is New Prague Area Schools?

New Prague Area Schools, ISD 721, is a nationally recognized school district that combines the opportunities of a suburban school district with the advantages of a small town district. Our district (population 19,000) covers New Prague, a portion of Elko New Market, Lonsdale, and parts of 10 townships in Scott, Le Sueur, and Rice Counties. We are proud to serve more than 4,000 students. Our mission is to engage and support everyone in high levels of learning. We carry out our mission by making a commitment to strengthening our culture. The rules that guide our culture are: Doing What’s Right, Committing to Excellence, and Showing People You Care. This is called "The New Prague Way.” Living up to The New Prague Way is part of every employee’s job description. We have three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), one high school (9-12) and an alternative learning center. Our Early Childhood Services provides learning opportunities for children (age 0-5) and families. We have a comprehensive preschool program (age 3-5) and school-age care program (age 4-5th grade). Our Community Education department provides programs and services for learners of all ages.
