100Kin10 is a national network committed to solving one of our country's most pressing challenges – giving kids a great STEM education – by adding 100,000 more, excellent STEM teachers to America's classrooms by 2021. Not only are we on track to achieve that goal, we are also tackling the underlying systemic causes of why it's so hard to get and keep great STEM teachers in the first place. Whether it's climate change, food shortages, or economic inequality, almost all the world's most pressing problems require STEM (science, tech, engineering, and math)-based solutions. To produce big ideas and solve big challenges, students in the U.S. need excellent STEM education and learning opportunities, and they need great STEM teachers. Yet many STEM teachers aren't receiving the essential preparation and resources to do their jobs effectively, and we face a shortage of qualified STEM teachers nationwide. Our network of STEM education advocates and experts has grown to 300+ organizations, and transcends party lines, sectors, and generations.
